ANALISIS KEBIJAKAN KETAHANAN PANGAN DI DESA GERAGU KECAMATAN PULAU MALAN KABUPATEN KATINGAN

Abstract

Issues regarding stunting and food security are currently hot topics of discussion within bureaucratic and economic circles. The government's policy to incorporate food security programs into Village Fund allocations represents an effort to reduce the stunting prevalence rate to 14.2% by 2029. The Geragu Village Government implemented a broiler chicken farming venture as a food security program to carry out this government policy. This study aims to evaluate the policy in terms of adequacy and sustainability. Data were collected through interviews with informants associated with the policy. The research results indicate that, regarding adequacy, the production of consumable chicken meat—amounting to 696 kg per production cycle—exceeds the Geragu Village community's consumption requirement of 63,900 grams (63.9 kg) per week. This implies that the policy can meet chicken meat needs, with the surplus available for sale to other villages or for use as a substitute for other animal protein sources. The R/C ratio calculation yielded a value of 0.97. This indicates that the broiler farming venture in Geragu Village is operating at a loss, as total costs exceed total revenue. Based on these findings, the sustainability aspect is not met.
